MetaCommunications has released a free version of their popular workflow software called Approval Manager 2011 Express edition. This software provides advanced workflow capabilities for managing the online proofing and review process. For the first time Approval Manager is available separately from the MetaCommunications Workgroups suite, and includes hundreds of features that automate the online proofing and review process for marketing, creative and production environments.
The release of the free standalone Express edition will make the technology available to a much wider spectrum of the market. According to the company, the Express edition includes more functionality than most of their competitors paid products. The Approval Manager Standard edition starts at $995 and includes complete workflow management, while the Express edition offers tools that allow you to automate the workflow of your team and how it interacts with reviewers to gather approvals, feedback, or variation selection.
